Preparing for your Tailwheel Endorsement

So you’ve committed to work on your tailwheel endorsement? Great! Now what?

CONSTRUCTION ZONE – Work in Progress!

Here are the things you can do to prepare:

Early homework:

  • I highly suggest you purchase and read through the book The Compleat Taildragger Pilot* by Harvey S. Plourde.
  •  Get familiar with the FAA data for the following airports: KRBD, KLNC, KJWY, T13
  • More coming…

Before flying

  • Consider wearing snag-free shoes with relatively thin soles and heels that will not snag on the heel brakes if flying the Super Cub
  • Stay in good physical shape, and be hydrating prior to your flights.
  • Bring your logbook, pilot certificates and medical, and photo ID.
  • Bring your favorite headset – Lemo plugs also available in the Super Cub
  • More coming…
